In order to keep up with the growing needs of our customers in Chicago and provide for much greater expansion in the Chicago dedicated server and colocation market, we will be replacing our current core routers in Chicago with Brocade MLXe series routers. Date: Sunday, September 12, 2010 Start Time: 12:01 AM CDT (GMT-5) End Time: 6:00 AM CDT (GMT-5) Maintenance Scope: Replace core routers Customer Impact: Major - Minimal customer downtime is expected This maintenance should be considered very major, and short periods of customer downtime during this maintenance window are expected. In order to minimize downtime as much as possible, core3.chi01 will be turned down and replaced with the new core1.chi01 router. After proper functionality has been established, the maintenance will continue with the replacing of core4.chi01 with the new core2.chi01. This maintenance will be scripted prior to the maintenance window, and all configuration should be completed ahead of time. We will have members of our network operations, data center operations, support, and management teams on-site during this maintenance to ensure all issues are addressed quickly and smoothly. During this maintenance, there will be localized outages from BGP convergence, in addition to periods of downtime for many customers. We do not expect downtime for any individual customer to exceed thirty minutes during this maintenance window. Any questions regarding this maintenance should be directed to noc@steadfast.net in response to this message. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. | |
