Network Maintenance: Chicago Core Software Upgrade

We have scheduled a software upgrade on a core router in Chicago, IL to address a software issue. Date: Saturday, January 30th, 2016 Customer Impact: During the maintenance, we will be updating the software on one of our core routers. This update is intended to address a known issue that has previously affected network reliability. The upgrade will only be applied to a single device, so redundancy will be maintained throughout the maintenance period. We expect the customer impact of this maintenance to be minimal, though some brief periods of localized inaccessibility and suboptimal routing may occur. The upgrade process is expected to take approximately one hour. Additional time is being allowed in case of issues with the process and for testing following the upgrade.
